Following his retirement from day-to-day commercial operations, Lawrence has continued to apply this extensive industry knowledge and international network to a focused business development role: connecting established manufacturers with reputable importers, distributors and purchasing organisations, with the objective of developing sustainable, mutually beneficial and long-term commercial partnerships.

In advance of MEDICA, EurAid Connections and their partners communicate with an established network of more than 500 international buyers and purchasing contacts, inviting them to meet participating manufacturers and explore relevant product opportunities during the exhibition.

The family business was originally established in 1939 as a manufacturer of Surgical Dressings, with Lawrence Sammeroff joining the company in 1958. His subsequent career provided extensive practical experience across manufacturing, international purchasing, sales, distribution and export markets.
During the 1970s, the company established joint-venture manufacturing operations with three companies in India. These operations employed more than 200 people and supplied products to international markets.
Recognising the growing opportunities presented by the Chinese manufacturing sector, Lawrence subsequently established a wholly owned manufacturing subsidiary in Shanghai, China, employing more than 100 people.
At the same time, the company's headquarters and commercial infrastructure remained in Glasgow, incorporating sales, packaging, warehousing and distribution operations and employing more than 40 people.
The company's products were distributed internationally across a broad range of healthcare and commercial channels, including:
